Thanks to Toyota Racing Development’s (TRD)’s new suspension kit, Tacoma owners can now opt for a little more Thanksgiving. Toyota Tacoma TRD lift kit enhances off-road truck movement with new Bilstein shock absorbers and cast iron spacers. Trade engineers have specially designed and tested new suspension kits that will be available in 2020 and on new Tacoma trucks.
Shocking Bilstein
The TRD kit includes the new Bilstein Shock Absorber with mono-tube digression value, which includes TRD red dust boots and “TRD enabled” graphics. It has a fast display in the front and rear settings.
Front
Placing the set coil in the shock absorber tube allows the Bilstein unit to provide two additional trips. Front shock absorbers have extended rebound strokes to allow further travel.
Back
On the back, the Bilstein unit offers a body reducer that is larger than the standard Tacoma dumper (two inches and 1.5 inches). The body of a large shock absorber is a standard Tacoma-sized piston rod four millimeters in size and contains extra oil to help improve wet behaviour and heat. The spacer cast iron included in the TRD kit lifts the Tacoma one inch back.

Improved ground clearance
TRD kits improve floor cleaning from all 1.7-inch frames. The kit takes the angle of approach (+3 to 32 degrees), the rollover angle (+1.6 to 23 degrees) and the corner (+0.5 to 24 degrees).
Price and availability
The Tacoma TRD lift kit includes all the hardware required for installation and is available as a dealer installation option. The recommended retail price is labor 1,350, including labor (estimated at four or five hours). The Tacoma TRD lift kit will be available for all 4×4 V6 models from 2020, except for the Tacoma Double Cabin Beds and Pro Tread Pro. 2WD and four cylinder models are excluded.
