The report pointed out that the cost of the Gorilla Glass windshield option is only $95, and Jeep estimates that 80% of buyers will choose to participate.

Jeep can prepare a stronger windshield option for Gladiator and Wrangler owners, who plan to drive their vehicles through rough and debris-filled terrain on a regular basis. According to a report released by Mopar Insiders on Sunday, dealers will soon offer buyers the option to upgrade the front window to a Gorilla Glass installation.

Wiper Principle of Operation Mopar Insiders quoted its dealer contact and stated that it has started accepting orders for the optional Gorilla Glass windshield, which can be used with optional Wrangler and Gladiator liveries. According to the report, the windshield uses the same chemical reinforcement technology as the company’s mobile phone screen and its impact resistance is three times that of a standard windshield. The optional screen is also reportedly thinner and lighter than the common windshield on the Wrangler and Gladiator.

The report pointed out that the cost of the Gorilla Glass windshield option is only $95, and Jeep estimates that 80% of buyers will choose to participate. When Road & Track contacted via email, the automaker declined to comment on the existence of the new windshield. This is not the first time we have heard of the use of heavy Gorilla Glass on a Jeep.

The Wrangler Orange Peelz concept car launched during the Easter Jeep Safari in 2021 also has features. According to Carscoops, the Gorilla Glass windshield is the standard configuration of the current Ford GT, and cars such as McLaren Senna and 720S can also choose this windshield.
