The median sales were US$6,284, compared with US$23,734 for Toyota and US$17,507 for Kia.

Initially marketing under the name of “another car company,” General Motors’ Saturn closed its doors unceremoniously in early 2010 after years of sales decline and brand degradation. With the increasing demand for second-hand cars in the US and the value of second-hand Saturn models exceeding the industry average, the company’s star unexpectedly began to rise again. Quoting data provided by Car Gurus, The Drive reported that in the past 90 days,

Saturn’s transaction prices have increased more than any other car manufacturer. They have risen by 26.15% since March 2021, and have soared by 30.24% since June 2020. In terms of background, Subaru rose 12.13% and 20.26% respectively, while the industry average was 17.11% and 30.23%. Used cars are generally more expensive, but the value of luxury cars is usually lower than that of cheap cars made by major brands.

Although the price has risen, according to the same source, Saturn’s transaction price is still the lowest in the market. The median sales were US$6,284, compared with US$23,734 for Toyota and US$17,507 for Kia. There is no doubt that one factor affecting this difference is that, as we mentioned, the last Saturn was built more than ten years ago. There is no newest model of Saturn, so all its cars have about 10 years of depreciation.

Its median sale price is $ 6,770. At the other end of the spectrum, the humble Ion (2003-2007; pictured) sold for $ 4,446; it lost 0.49% of its value in the last 30 days, thus weakening the Saturn average. Chapter is certain that due to continued chip shortages that caused delivery delays and low inventory levels from dealers, this situation has forced companies to take unprecedented action, resulting in more and more drivers buying cars.

For example, Ford offers a reward of $1,000 to attract buyers. Some people may eventually add their name to the title of Saturn because this is the first car they encounter. Others, especially drivers 30 and older, may remember that the brand has a reputation for making some interesting and expensive cars. Some of the continued economic damage caused by the pandemic may also prompt buyers to switch to cheaper cars, which may explain why Suzuki’s prices are also rising. There is no indication that this growth is driven by impulse buying driven by nostalgia, which will allow Saturn to enter the world of popular collector cars. We do not recommend replacing your 401 (k) with a barn full of SC.
